Highlight New Products

You can highlight certain products as new ones in the front store by enabling New Product icons display. You will find detailed guidance in the sections below.

This will look differently for various layout options:

  • For tiles:
  • For details:
  • For compact details:

Mark a Product as a New Arrival

To mark a product as featured:

  1. Navigate to the Products > Products using main menu.
  2. Hover over the More Options menu to the right of the item and click the Edit icon to start editing its details.
  3. In the General section, set Is New Arrival to Yes.
  4. Click Save.

Remove a Product from New Arrivals

To remove a product from Featured Products block, set Is New Arrival to No in the product details:

  1. Navigate to the Products > Products using main menu.
  2. Hover over the More Options menu to the right of the item and click the Edit icon to start editing its details.
  3. In the General section, set Is New Arrival to No.
  4. Click Save.

Set Up a New Arrival Icon

Configuring New Product icons can be done globally, per website and organization.

Enable New Product Icons Globally

To enable New Product icons globally:

  1. In the main menu, navigate to System > Configuration.
  2. Select Commerce > Product > Promotions in the menu to the left.

Note

For faster navigation between the configuration menu sections, use Quick Search.

The following page opens:

  1. In the New Product Icons section, clear the Use Default check box and select Yes in the Show on Product View field.
  2. Click Save.

Note

To disable ‘New Product’ icons, select No in the Show on Product View field, and click Save.

Enable New Product Icons per Website

To enable New Product icons per website:

  1. Navigate to System > Website in the main menu.
  2. For the necessary website, hover over the More Options menu to the right of the necessary website and click the Configuration icon to start editing the configuration.
  3. Select Commerce > Product > Promotions in the menu to the left.

Note

For faster navigation between the configuration menu sections, use Quick Search.

The following page opens:

  1. In the New Product Icons, clear the Use Default check box and select Yes in the Show on Product View list.
  1. Click Save.

Note

To disable New Product icons, select No in the Show on Product View list, and click Save.

Enable New Product Icons per Organization

To enable New Product icons per organization:

  1. Navigate to System > User Management > Organizations in the main menu.
  2. For the necessary organization, hover over the More Options menu to the right of the necessary organization and click the Configuration icon to start editing the configuration.
  3. Select Commerce > Product > Promotions in the menu to the left.

Note

For faster navigation between the configuration menu sections, use Quick Search.

The following page opens.

  1. In the New Product Icons, clear the Use Default check box and select Yes in the Show on Product View list.
  1. Click Save.

Note

To disable the ‘New Product’ icons, select No in the Show on Product View list, and click Save.

Set Up New Arrivals

To promote new arrivals on the store homepage, you can set up and control the products included in the New Arrivals block. This can be done on three levels: globally, per organization and per website.

Set Up New Arrivals Globally

To set up the New Arrivals block globally:

  1. In the main menu, navigate to System > Configuration.
  2. Select Commerce > Product > Promotions in the menu to the left.

For faster navigation between the configuration menu sections, use Quick Search.

The following page opens:

  1. In the New Arrivals section provide the following information:

    • Product Segment – Select the segment that will include the items to be featured in the New Arrivals block.

    Note

    If Choose Segment is selected, the New Arrivals block disappears from the homepage.

    • Maximum Items – Set the maximum number of items that the block should contain. By default, the number is set to 4 items.
    • Minimum Items – Set the minimum number of items that the block should contain. By default, the number is set to 3 items.

    Note

    The block will be hidden if the number of items in the segment used for the block is less than the set value. For instance, if the set minimum number is 3 and the number of items in the segment is 2, you will not be able to see the block unless you add more items to the segment, or change the minimum value.

    • Use Slider On Mobile check box – When the slider is enabled, the block occupies less screen space, while showing larger product images.

Note

Clear the Use Default check box to change settings manually.

Set Up New Arrivals per Organization

To set up the New Arrivals block per organization:

  1. Navigate to System > User Management > Organizations in the main menu.
  2. For the necessary organization, hover over the More Options menu to the right of the necessary organization and click the Configuration icon to start editing the configuration.
  3. Select Commerce > Product > Promotions in the menu to the left.

The following page opens:

  1. In the New Arrivals section provide the following information:

    • Product Segment – Select the segment that will include the items to be featured in the New Arrivals block.
