Training Thursday: New Video Tutorials to Expand Your Knowledge of OroCommerce

June 22, 2017 | Oro Team

We have great news to share with our Community! OroCommerce now has its own dedicated online Media Library. The Library offers features overviews, educational how-to OroCommerce tutorial videos and webinar recordings to help users get started with the application and learn more about B2B eCommerce.

This blog is the first post in our special OroCommerce Training Thursday series. Moving forward, we’ll now inform the Community of any new additions to the Media Library.

We start off today with three product training videos that explain the basic functionalities within OroCommerce.

After watching these videos, you’ll be able to:

  • Manage Requests for Quotes (or RFQs);
  • Configure and view front-end menus within the application;
  • Create customer groups based on similar characteristics.

Here’s a brief overview of each video:

How to Manage Request for Quotes (RFQs)

Customers can submit an RFQ via a website, email, phone, or when talking to a sales rep. As soon as a customer sends an RFQ, it’s displayed in the OroCommerce backoffice. In OroCommerce, B2B sellers use RFQs to negotiate an offer with the clients and support them throughout their procurement process. This video explains how to: enable and disable workflows for RFQs, request for more deal-specific data, decline a request, or make a quote using relevant RFQ information.

How to View and Customize Front-End Menus

Within OroCommerce, users can easily create a customized UI for the front-end menu and their elements. The platform provides several default menus where sellers can add or remove menu items to customize the store front-end. Watch this video to get actionable guidelines on modifying Organization and Website front-end menus as well as Customers and Customer Groups elements.

How to Create Customer Groups

OroCommerce enables users to assign customer groups based on some shared attributes or configurations such as pricing, payment terms, and tax settings. Each customer group can then be customized. It’s possible to adjust a group’s front-end menu, add or remove group’s specific menu items, and set up discounts, payment terms, and tax codes. This video demonstrates how to configure and manage a customer group step-by-step.

…Bonus for Learning Hard
